چکیده

Kandelia candel, a mangrove belonging to the family Rhizophoraceae, whole plant is reported have anti-diabetic properties and was studied for evaluation of in vitro antioxidant antidiabetic study. Total Phenolic Content (TPC), Flavonoid (TFC) Alkaloid were quantitatively estimated by using standard protocols. The study evaluated activity extract method employed are DPPH radical scavenging assay, reducing power assay Phosphomolybdenum assay. Potent activities shown acetonitrile water leaf stem all assays. Acetonitrile bark showing highest (IC50 = 31.84 g/ml). Plant poor, power. better reduction molybdenum followed (617.33 ± 4.44). Chloroform, alpha-amylase inhibition Water show good inhibition. Highest TPC TFC obtained (237.6 1.06 1277.19 3.41). These findings that polyphenolic constituents extracts responsible free capacity. results this indicate medicinal with prominent activities.

d15N during leaf senescence in the mangrove, Kandelia candel (L.) Druce

Kandelia candel (L.) Druce is the dominant mangrove species in two nature reserves in Northern Taiwan. We characterized the nutrient quality of the leaf litter originating from K. candel and attempted to suggest the extent to which the observed decline of nutrient concentrations in senescing leaves could be attributed to the withdrawal of these nutrients into the main plant before abscission. O...

Antioxidant Activities of Extract and Fractions from the Hypocotyls of the Mangrove Plant Kandelia candel

The antioxidant activities of 70% acetone extract (70% AE) from the hypocotyls of the mangrove plant Kandelia candel and its fractions of petroleum ether (PF), ethyl acetate (EF), water (WF), and the LF (WF fraction further purified through a Sephadex LH-20 column), were investigated by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP)...

Phytochemicals of Euphorbia lathyris L. and Their Antioxidant Activities.

The objectives of this study were to characterize the antioxidant capacities and phytochemicals such as phenolics and flavonoids in four parts of Euphorbia lathyris L. HPLC was employed to detect the type and content of phenolic acids and flavonoids in the root, stem, seed, and testa of the plant. The total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) were different among various pa...

Condensed tannins from mangrove species Kandelia candel and Rhizophora mangle and their antioxidant activity.

The structures of condensed tannins isolated from two mangrove species, Kandelia candel and Rhizophora mangle, were characterized by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) analyses. Results demonstrate that large heterogeneity occurs in degree of polymerization, pattern of hydroxylation, a...
